“人生はなかなか思い通りに行かない”とサニービーは言う。1986年カリフォルニアのベイエリア生まれ、サニービーは色んな体験をしてきた。MC Hammerのサウンドエンジニアをやっていた義理の父の影響や、歌手であるおじいさんの影響を受けつつ、オールドスクールから現在のヒップホップを自分のスタイルにミックスし、ネックストレベルのヒップホップを生み出している。
サニービーは音楽に囲まれて育ってきた。トリニダード・トバゴ出身の父はいくつかの地元のバンドと一緒にアメリカで演奏をし、サニービーにも多くの音楽を紹介した。そんな影響もあり、サニービーは国や言葉の壁を気にせず多くの音楽を聴いてきた。
